About the Author

Gloria Duva DiRicco Knapp graduated from Paterson Central High School in 1955. She attended Trenton State College with a major in Elementary Music Education, and obtained a Masters Degree in Piano Performance.

After teaching for 24 years, a diagnosis of incurable bone marrow cancer caused her to leave teaching. She had surgery 12 years later, to successfully remove Colon cancer, and continues treatment as a grateful cancer survivor.

Her life includes a marriage of 47 years, and two sons: Bob Jr. and Joseph.

Black, White & Shades of Poetry

“Black, White & Shades of Poetry” is a very personal collection of poems that I have written. It is my desire that these writings will touch the hearts of many readers. I have attempted to express, through poetry, a sense of humor as I reflected on the subjects of family, relationships and the miracle we commonly refer to as life. Enjoy!
